The Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet was invited to participate in the Third Annual International Trumpet Festival on May 24-27, 2005.
We were able to raise funds for the trip through generous support from Western Carolina University and the Jackson County Arts Council.
We joined invited performers from several European countries and one other musician from the United States – Fred Mills, a founding member of the world-famous Canadian Brass.
In addition to our own performances, we joined forces with a Russian brass quintet to accompany Fred Mills. We thoroughly enjoyed playing with these fantastic Russian musicians, and with the legendary Fred Mills.
