Sunday Concert In The Park with the SMBQ
September 16, 2007
Join the Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet at the Pavilion on the grounds of The Jackson County Recreation Center in Cullowhee for a Sunday afternoon concert on September 16, at 2:00 pm.
In recognition of World’s Alzheimer’s Day on September 21, the Quintet plans a fun-filled concert that is sure to raise your spirits. Still hot from their successful debut at Carnegie Hall, members will be sure to entertain you.
The concert is free but the Quintet plans to ask for donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. As part of World Alzheimer’s Day, Harrah’s Foundation is matching every dollar raised before September 21.
In addition to donations, the Quintet will auction themselves off for an event such as a wedding reception, a large function put on by your organization, or a party you might have planned. The opening bid is $1500.
Members of the Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet are Brad Ulrich, trumpet; David Ginn, trumpet; Travis Bennett, French horn; Dan Cherry, trombone; Michael Shallock, tuba. They urge you to pack a picnic, bring your blankets and chairs, and join them for this day of music, friends, and making a difference for those who struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
If you cannot make it to the concert, go to www.actionalz.org on the web and make your donation. Or, you can send a check to David Ginn made out to the Alzheimer’s Association and it will be counted toward the amount collected at “Sunday in the Park.” Mail it to David Ginn, 34 Mountain View Road, Sylva, NC 28779.
